This position is critical to our success and the well-being of every horse in our care. We focus on personal leadership development within our talented operations team. Boarders, horse care, and communication are at the forefront of our purpose. The Assistant Ranch Manager partners with the Manager and boarders to provide individualized care to more than 55 horses. Through weekly and monthly staff meetings, this position works with the Ranch Manager and office director to plan out weekly assignments, prioritize staffing and ranch resources to meet the boarders’ needs, and ensure every horse thrives in all weather conditions. The Assistant Ranch Manager also leads a team of stall masters in managing the cleanliness of each barn and stall, appropriate feed and watering, and daily turnouts. About the position Responsibilities Horse Care Oversee stall management checklist, confirming stall masters’ work Stall master training, including proper methods for stall cleaning, horse turnouts, horse feed and watering, and barn maintenance. Check pasture horse health and report any concerns to Ranch Manager Confirm water and feed levels for pasture horses, mini horses, and goats. Turnout horses per weekly and daily plans Individual horse health checks during the morning and evening. Equestrian Center Checks Log any minor or major repairs needed to stalls and horse runs Stall, horse run, and barn/equipment maintenance and repairs, as directed by the Ranch Manager. At closing, confirm stalls and barns are secure and closed. Confirm arenas are cleared for dragging in the morning and drag when needed Night checks: includes horse health checks, barn and stall security checks, barn temperature checks, and making sure boarders leave within the ranch’s open hours.
