He is a FANTASTIC, true all-around horse. He is quiet, look for yourself in the video, please watch it all! Jump him over cross country jumps on a Saturday. On Sunday go cow-sorting or move a herd of cattle. He’ll be happy to participate in your local weekend show or in the mountains the next weekend. Care to join a drill team for the summer? He’ll be your partner! He has even fox hunted a few times and was a champ. He is so versatile and happy to please you in any adventure you might pick. He has been hauled to so many places that he is as comfortable at a new trail as he is at home. Diesel has received extensive training. He has very smooth gaits and will collect in the bridle softly. He has an Excellent stop, very nice trot-canter transitions, as well as canter departures from the walk and down to a walk from the canter; he has very nice simple lead changes with only 1-2 step of trot in between; he can leg yield, turn on his fore hand and on his haunches ( slow spin) ( also started on shoulder in and haunches in), side passes, opens gates, roll back, rides one handed, not to mention that he will ride bridle-less and even carry the flag while bridle-less and still keep a nice frame!! Diesel is very brave and will cross any obstacle at ease, he will learn new ones in just minutes! He has experience with teeter totter, rocking bridges, bicycles, leaf blowers, water crossings, tarps, balloons and power-tools. He is traffic safe and can pull sleds in the snow. Nothing phases him, check the video! Diesel is very sure footed on trail and very balanced going uphill, downhill, up and down rocks, and he’s safe and balanced to trot and canter even downhill. He’s happy to take the lead or stay in the back; he will pony your other horse as well! He has a LOT of experience for his young age. I have left him for 6 weeks and hopped back on him without any ground-work and he was the very same horse! He never gets cold back, no silly business, he has never ever bucked. What a GEM, incredible for his age! Diesel has great feet and can be kept barefoot all year around, but I have had him shod as well; right now he’s shod and he gets hot shod and his feet filed with a Dremel. Ties, cross-ties, trailer loads (ramp or step up), bathes and clips. He is up to date on worming, vaccinations, farrier and dental. His preferred living arrangement is in a large pasture; he’s very easy to catch and will always meet you at the gate no matter how big the pasture is. He has also lived in a stall and run. He loves playing with other horses! I am going to miss this horse, he’s my go to for any kind of riding! Feel free to call with any questions!
