I bought her as a long yearling directly from the Potter Ranch thinking that she would be my next barrel prospect. Ironically, she’s never been started on barrels. She’s been used in all aspects of ranch work. She’s gathered cows, drug calves during brandings, sorted cows, and has been rode through different types of desert and mountain terrain. She has a good start as a breakaway horse and has won a little money in that. I wouldn’t call her finished yet though. She’s also been heeled off of a little bit at some small local ropings. She breaks hard from the box and pays attention to the livestock. If you draw a fast steer or calf, you’ll have to push her hard to make her keep up. If she sits too long, she can get a little cold backed the first time you ride her, but she can’t buck hard enough to do anything. After that first ride back from sitting, she’s great. She’s great on the ground and good to shoe. Take her and finish her out as a rope horse, or add her to your broodmare string. She’s got the genetics to be successful at either one of those. $15,000 OBO.
