We are a family operation owned by a well known horseman and clinician. We are located in western Utah, just 25 minutes west of Salt Lake City. We are looking for those who love the equine industry, ranching lifestyle and want to make a career here. We raise and run a large registered Quarter Horse herd as well as a commercial cow /calf operation. Our range consists of a lot of steep mountain terrain. We want someone who is family oriented and is looking to make their long term home here and isn’t afraid to “Ride for the Brand” as they say. Not looking fo someone that hops from ranch to ranch. MUST have the knowledge & confidence to ride young horses on the ranch while checking, doctoring, moving cattle, etc. No ATV’s used. Must have a strong desire to gain more knowledge and horsemanship. Low stress cattle handling techniques preferred. We move rotational electric fence part of the year. Must know how to repair fence and maintenance when needed. Must have valid driver’s license, clean driving record for insurance purposes and be able to drive manual trans ranch truck with gooseneck trailers for work. Haul & check water and break ice when required. Must be able to rope effectively. Farrier skills a huge plus. Other duties as assigned. No haying or farming. For the sake of both of us, please be honest about your abilities. If you’re incapable of doing this job as stated above, DO NOT apply. If you won’t/can’t ride young and green horses and accomplish the job, please save us all time and DO NOT apply. We need a real Cowboy/Horseman…not DREAMERS! We are looking for someone that isn’t afraid of long hours and working 5-6 days a week most of the year. must be honest, trustworthy, hardworking, positive attitude, clean, must be able to work well alone or with others. Owner travels often doing clinics, so we need someone who is a self starter and is able to get the job done and keep the ranch running smoothly when we are out of town. Ability to communicate with the ranch owners and other employees clearly and with respect is essential. We WILL do a background check. No Drug or Alcohol abuse. Non-Smoker. Wage DOE and abilities. We have a large, 3 bed room apartment , suitable for a small family or a 2 bedroom bunkhouse/apartment for a single applicant. Both are located inside of our indoor riding. Utilities paid. We are located in a fast growing community, close to very good schools and town, where we commute to our range daily. Also a possibility of running some of your own cattle or horses after someone has proved their work ethic and plans to stay long term.
