Description:
Bay roan gelding that has been used extensively on the ranch and will keep the entire family safe. We have used him for a little bit of everything and he is the one we all choose when we have a real job to do or if we know we have a big day. He is a great traveler, very smooth and knows how to get through rough country with ease. He always seems to pick the best route and is very sure footed. He has been a million miles trail riding in the rugged Idaho/Montana mountains, for both work and also for recreation. He fits all levels of riders and tends to rise to the occasion when a more advanced rider is on him and needs more horse, yet he takes care of the inexperienced as well. "Hutch" has been used for ranch rodeos, branded a zillion calves, and doctored outside. We have roped the hot heels in the arena and headed some steers out of the box as well. It wouldn’t take 10 minutes to finish him if team roping is your thing, its just not what we spend our time doing. He is good to saddle, shoe, bath, load, etc. Rides in any bridle, halter, or just a string around his neck works just fine as well. Will cross all water, down timber, pick his way through the rocks and brush, etc. Will absolutely go anywhere you ask him to, and do so willingly. He is very cowy and is fun to sort on in the alley. He would make an awesome team sort/penner for the weekend enthusiast as well. The best part about "Hutch" is the fact that he can be ridden once a week or once a year and he is still the same. Very reliable and honest. This kind of horse isn’t for sale very often, and they take a life time to make.

We will be selective as to where he goes as it is important to us that it is a good fit.

"Hutch" was raised by our family, and his sire is well known for producing this type of horse... User friendly, gentle, and pretty.
