Description:
Seedstock cattle operation located in northern Colorado looking for an experienced night calver. Looking to fill this position ASAP. We calve cows from December to May, with a slower period around March, between the calving periods of our two herds. In the summer and fall months when we are not calving, you will also be expected to help with checking cows in the pastures daily/weekly and some farming (corn, wheat, hay).



Salaried position, pay is dependent on experience.

Benefits include:

• Housing, including paid utilities

• Paid vacation, after probationary time

• ½ beef each year

• Ranch vehicle provided

• Boarding and feed for up to two (2) horses – horses must be used for ranch work



Responsibilities:

• Night calving shift

• Keep accurate records of cows who have calved during your watch

• Tubing newborn calves

• Bringing calves inside during cold/snowy winter nights

• Identify sick cows and calves

• Some daytime work on busy days (during calving season)

• Regular daytime hours during months where cows are not calving

• Checking pastures daily/weekly

• Pasture doctoring cattle

• Building and maintaining fences

• Work horseback

• Assist with farming – corn, wheat, hay



Requirements/Qualifications:

• Experience with calving cows is a must

• Experience with low-stress cattle handling

• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record – ID will be checked during interview process

• Drug free is a must, including marijuana – drug test upon hiring

• Dependable

• Communicator

• Honest

• Self-motivated

• CDL a plus
