Description:
If you are looking for a safe, well broke gelding to use on the ranch or ride on trails, then take a look at Jellybean. He is a cute 17 year old bay gelding, 14.2hh with a beautiful forelock and mane. Jellybean has been used for all phases of ranch work, including roping, gathering, and doctoring cattle in the pasture, sorting pairs and dragging calves to the fire. We bought him last year right off of the ranch where he had been for his entire life. Jellybean had been turned out for over 3 years, but we saddled him up and hopped on and he rode off with no problems. Since we have owned him we have done a little bit of everything with him, from team sorting, to trail riding, to giving lessons to more experienced kids. We originally bought him for our 5 year old son, but while he rides him Jellybean is just a little too sensitive and responsive for his liking. He has never offered to buck, rear, bite, kick or take off, and has a nice set of brakes, but when you give him leg he responds. Jellybean is an excellent ranch horse but with his quiet nature he is a very nice trail horse that isn’t bothered by anything. For a kid that knows how to ride, he would also make a very nice playday horse. He is a pleasure to ride out in the pasture, crosses water with no problem, and isn’t spooky. Jellybean has an excellent one handed neck rein, and the smoothest trot and lope that you could sit to all day long without getting sore. He is good on both leads, will do flying lead changes, work a gate, and move off your leg. Jellybean is best suited to an intermediate adult or advanced youth, as he is well broke but also very responsive. He rides quietly on a loose rein but is very sensitive to your leg and will go when asked, without hesitation. Jellybean is content to walk quietly all day long if you prefer, but will easily step into a trot or lope when asked. He can be ridden by himself or with other horses and doesn’t mind being separated from the group. He has been ridden down the road and in traffic and isn’t bothered by it. Jellybean is very gentle on the ground, has good ground manners, stands quietly tied, and is easy to catch, load, haul and shoe. $3500. Call for more information: Aubrey at our phone number or Wendy at our phone number. Serious inquiries only, no tire kickers! Please no emails or texts. Delivery is available but not included.
