We started “Nelson” ourselves when he was a 2-year-old. He started very easy with no buck. We showed him in a few small horse shows as we continued to advance his training. He placed 2nd in a ranch versatility class against older, seasoned horses. We have used him for all of the different ranch chores, including calving, sorting, gathering big country, riding pens, pasture roping/doctoring, and any other daily jobs that come up on the ranch. My wife has picked him as her go-to horse for the last two years. Nelson is the horse we choose to handle a big job! He is strong and powerful and will go all day! My son and I have headed on him in the practice pen for the last couple years and have started hauling him. He scores and rates well and has plenty of speed, too! He has always been sound, with no scars or blemishes. He has been shod but has also run barefoot with no issues. He is easy to catch and has a kind personality.
