Salary: Dependent upon experience Room & Board: No Phone #: 254-931-8910 click to view fullsize image Description: NOW HIRING AN EXPERIENCED RANCH/PENS MANAGER IN TEMPLE, TX This is a horseback position. Housing is not provided. Pay dependable upon experience/fit. 5 years experience minimum required. Regular duties will include: -Working/sorting/penning/checking/doctoring cattle. -Managing 2 or more employees and conducting the day to day activities at a working ranch/cattle company. -Working with customers on cattle purchases. -Feeding cattle - putting hay and feed out, feeding dogs and horses. -Legging up, training incoming horses. -Facility and grounds maintenance and upkeep. -Fence maintenance and repairs -Some driving will be required -other duties as assigned Position Requirements: -Must be able to rope and ride a horse well, green horses too. There will be a test before hiring. -Must be able to carry out a task given without supervision. -Must be able to give direction/instructions and manage employees throughout the day. This is a managerial position. -Must be able to work well with others. -Must have a valid DL (CDL is a huge plus) -Must have reliable transportation or means of getting to work on time on the scheduled days. -Must be able to lift and carry at least 50 lbs. -Must be able to pass a drug test. -Must be able to operate/drive a skid steer. -Bilingual would be a plus but is not required. -Welding experience would be a plus but is not required Experience: -At least five years of cattle experience is required, preferably cow/calf side but feedyard or yearling experience is fine too. -At least two years horseback riding experience is required, ability to rope some a necessity. -At least 2 years managerial or supervisory experience is preferred. Tasks will be completed using the company’s atv, truck and horses.
