Haying: None Room And Board: Yes Phone#: 2098402422 Description: Hardworking college graduate looking for part-time ranch work or caretaking opportunity in exchange for on-site housing and potential stipend. I currently work part time remotely (permanently) so ideally I would like to find a situation where I can continue with my current part time remote job. My hours are very flexible so I can either be available four full days or I can be available mornings and evenings daily. I don’t currently have pets/horses, single with no kids, I only drink socially and don’t smoke. Equestrian Riding / Ranch Care Experience: - Seasonal ranch hand and horseback tour guide for 7 years assisting and leading tours from 1-2 hours in vineyards and high alpine country. Duties included weed eating around ranch, picking up paddocks, fetching horses, saddling, greeting guests, providing introductory instruction, assigning horses to guests based on experience, leading or assisting with horseback tours. - Competed in rodeo queen competition on three different occasions, won 2018 Calaveras County Saddle Queen representing CCPRA rodeo. Through this experience I was introduced to reining and throwing a rope. - Caretaker for 3 months for prior horse trainer who had knee surgery. Duties includes house cleaning, prepping meals, feeding horses and dogs, cleaning stalls and water buckets, minor fence repair, exercising and bathing horses. - Competed on college equestrian team in IHSA western horse shows in walk/jog (2 years) and walk/jog/lope (2 years) and participated in weekly lessons all four years - 2 yrs part time ranch hand at high end boarding facility (16 horses). Duties includes turn out, picking and re-bedding stalls, cleaning water buckets/paddocks, feeding hays/supplements, blanketing, operating UTV - Occasional caretaker for small private family ranch for periods of a couple days to multiple weeks. Duties include staying on-site, house cleaning, feeding horses/chickens/dogs/cats/fish, provide necessary medication to senior animals, watering garden, cleaning stalls/paddocks, minor grooming, retrieving mail, and facilitating friends or family when they want to visit the ranch. Currently have no experience on a cattle/hay ranch but willing to learn. I’m starting a gig this week of exercising horses for a cutting trainer and interested in getting more involved working cattle. I also have little to no experience working young (2 and younger) horses or training. I’m willing to go outside of my comfort zone, fill a variety of roles, and work hard. Looking to start in June.
