He’s one of those horses that was just born gentle. He’s absolutely safe, sane and solid for most any rider from 5 to 85. He’s not a horse you have to keep ridden every day. He tacks up every time like a gentleman and rides right off. He is the best trail horse you could ask for. He’ll go up and down hills, down the road, through water, through the brush, over logs and bridges. He cruises on a loose rein and just meanders along. If you ask him to step up the pace he will. He will ride out alone just as easily as he will in a group. He isn’t barn sour or buddy sour. He’s been ridden up in the mountains of Colorado, at Palo Duro Canyon, on the Eminence Trail Ride, Dinosaur Valley Park and the Grasslands. He rides very comfortably in the arena and will jog and lope easily. He knows his leads, lopes circles, neck reins or direct reins, stops and backs up. We use him in the arena to push the roping steers up the alley. He’s been used on the ranch for the kids to help dad gather and pen cattle, prowl pastures looking for strays, to check fences and help load trucks. He was ridden a lot by my friends grandfather and he’s 79 yrs old. Woody is just an all around cool pony that is ready for someone to love him forever and be his buddy. He would be a boy or girls dream pony. He has the best ground manners you could ask for. The kiddos paint and decorate him, braid and color his hair, glitter his feet and put flowers in his hair and he’ll stand there and snooze while they do. If you need a special little horse for you, your grandma or your kid don’t miss him. He stands for the farrier, ties, bathes, loads and hauls.
