Description:
Full time salary position w/ housing available on a beautiful cow/calf ranch.

The Bear Valley 96 Ranch is a 500 cow/calf operation located in the historic Bear Valley of eastern Oregon adjacent to the Mahler National Forest. It operates on 15,000 acres of meadow, forest & rangeland. The ranch is under new ownership & management and is working to grow and develop the ranch and its employees. They must be a self-starter that loves to do a variety of jobs and finds joy in getting things accomplished. Come join our small & dedicated team 25 miles south of John Day in the mountains!



Responsibilities:

Tend to livestock

Flood irrigation

Tractor work

Soil and forage management

Maintaining equipment, fences, and buildings

Improving ranch infrastructure

This is NOT a cowboy position (looking for a well rounded individual with many talents); however, riding is required



Requirements:

High School Diploma/GED (2-4 yr advanced degree in related field preferred)

Able to perform physically demanding tasks

2+ yrs ranch experience (4-8 yrs preferred)

Valid driver’s license

Drug, tobacco, & alcohol-free workplace



Desired:

Oregon CDL or farm endorsement

Experienced mechanic & welder

Experienced operating heavy equipment

Experienced roper



Compensation:

Competitive salary

Housing available

12 days paid leave annually

Horse boarding for personal horse
