Leads, loads, ties, bathes. Will lunge on line or round pen. Stands to be mounted with or without mounting block. Stands well for ferrier. Can go barefoot without issue and has good feet. Stetson has very smooth gaits, with a floaty trot and rocking chair lope. He has been started in western dressage and could likely excel in this area with more work. He is a beautiful mover who collects up nicely at the walk and trot, and is well controlled at all gaits. He has a nice stop and back, and side passes. Does a decent rollback. He does neck rein, but it could use some work. He has been hauled quite a bit, but can be watchy in new places with a lot of activity, but he does settle in. Stetson has had some exposure to ranch work, and recently returned from 30 days on a cattle ranch. He opens and closes gates, goes over bridges/logs without issue, tall grass and brush is no problem. He has been used to push/cut herd, and hold and drag cows. Started lightly in breakaway and has great potential as a rope horse. Stetson does need to be ridden consistently (several times per week). He is not a horse you can leave off for six months, pull up and go. He is best suited for an intermediate rider. He is a horse with a lot of try, but needs a leader who can balance assertiveness and patience with him in sticky situations, and let him work through what is being asked of him.
