This horse is the real deal. He has belonged to a really good cowboy for the last 5 years and has had to work for a living nearly every day of that time, on the ranch, in the feedyard, and day working. Whether you need a good using horse, a fancy broke trail horse, or are looking for a horse to take to the arena and make a performance horse out of, Primo can do it. He is about as perfectly built as they come, 15hh with a big hip, wide chest, a beautiful head and plenty of bone. Primo is 8 years old and sells as GRADE, with no idea on breeding and no way to get papers. He has spent the majority of his life on a ranch out in West Texas, where he was used for all phases of ranch work, including sorting pairs, roping and doctoring cattle in the pasture, and checking fence. He has roped bulls and drug them into the trailer, and tied down more calves than most ranch horses could ever dream of. We have ponied colts off of him and they can literally climb all over him and it won’t bother him. Primo is stout and tough, strong to the horn and good on the end of a rope. He is gentle and has never offered to buck, rear, bite, kick, or take off, and is very willing, good minded and smart. He would make an excellent ranch versatility horse for someone wanting to get into SHOT, as he is very cowy and will do the trail obstacles beautifully. Primo has an excellent handle and stop, is very athletic and quick footed, and rides quietly out in the pasture on a loose rein. He will sidepass, move off your leg, do pretty rollbacks, and work a gate. He is very responsive and has plenty of gas if you ask him for it. Primo is a pleasure to ride out in the pasture, crosses water with no problem, and isn’t spooky. He will go up, under or through anything you point him at. He can be ridden out by himself or with other horses, and doesn’t mind being separated from the group. He has also been ridden alongside the road and in traffic and isn’t bothered by it. Primo is very gentle but due to his athletic ability he would be best suited to an intermediate or better rider. Asking $10,000. Primo has excellent ground manners, stands quietly tied, and is easy to catch, load, haul and shoe. He recently had shoes, teeth and coggins done so he is ready to go.
