He has belonged to a really good cowboy for the last 5 years and has had to work for a living nearly every day of that time, whether it was on the ranch, in the feedyard, or day working. Whether you need a good using horse or are looking for a really broke horse to take to the arena and make a performance horse out of, Streak can do it. He is about as perfectly built as they come, 15hh and every bit of 1250 pounds, with a big hip, wide chest, a beautiful head and plenty of bone. Streak is 10 years old and sells as GRADE, with no idea on breeding and no way to get papers. He has spent the majority of his life on a ranch out in West Texas, where he was used for all phases of ranch work, including sorting pairs, roping and doctoring cattle in the pasture, and checking fence. He has roped bulls and drug them into the trailer, and tied down more calves than most ranch horses could ever dream of. We have ponied colts off of him and they can literally climb all over him and it won’t bother him. Streak is stout and tough, strong to the horn and good on the end of a rope. He will ground tie and will stand still while you mount. He has an excellent handle and stop, is very athletic and quick footed, and rides quietly out in the pasture on a loose rein. Streak will sidepass, move off your leg, do pretty rollbacks, and work a gate. He is very responsive and has plenty of gas if you ask him for it. Streak has never offered to buck, rear, bite, kick or take off, but he is way too much for anyone but a cowboy or an experienced rider. He is a ranch horse and not a pet so if you are looking for a horse to give kisses and hugs to you probably wouldn’t appreciate him. Streak is a pleasure to ride out in the pasture, crosses water with no problem, and will go up, under or through anything you point him at. He can go all day long and has a very good work ethic and a willing disposition. He is a great ranch horse but would also make a fantastic calf horse or head/heel horse. Streak can be ridden out by himself or with other horses, and doesn’t mind being separated from the group. He has also been ridden alongside the road and in traffic and isn’t bothered by it.
