Dakota is 9 years old Bay Roan Gelding 15.2 hands 1350 pounds sound minded and bodied horse. Love’s water had no issues in the rocks on the trail or cross-country in the forest. With different level of riders he does good and walks in a straight line while doing so, he is not that wandering type he looks around and enjoy the scenery as much as you do but walks in a straight line or follows the trail whatever you would like. He neck reigns he’s easy to ride he is not chargy or jiggy. We have also taken him to the arena he will walk trot canter pick up his leads, leg yields, open gates, we have also roped the roping dummy. We have walked the barrel pattern on him and tried it he is just broke enough he will go where you aim him. Also moved cows around on him & he is cowy, Sorting, drag a bull on him, & branding calves with all that being said he is definitely the happiest ranch horse. On the trail this is not a high maintenance half to ride all the time horse I think if somebody never wanted to get out of a walk trot on the trail and just go for Long trail Rides he would be perfect. He is always easy to catch easy to be around has a fantastic personality really likes people I have not had a absolute true beginner on him but I have had very novice under supervision and he was fantastic. He clips ,shoes, bathes easy he trailered for us well too. I am not saying he is a beginner family horse you need to have some experience .
