Description:
BIG proven cross. If Blues Were Booze aka Boyd will eventually shed off gray. We expect him to fully mature 16+ hands. He has bone for DAYS! Boyd is halter broke and has a timid laid back personality. He can be caught and led, brushed out, loaded. He has feet trimmed consistently since he was 8 months old. He has been at the trainers since end of May doing some ground work and round pen work. Owner has his full 2016 sibling and really likes these horses. The full brother is 15.1 hands and STOUT. He has a great trainable mind and laid back disposition. Owner is heading on him quite a bit in the practice pen and starting to haul him. He will really dig in when running towards one and when he faces he just buries his butt and faces quick. He is powerful. Boyd has some huge knees and long pasterns to give us every indication he is going to be BIG and will take time for everything to come together.

Sire is Joes Okie Blue. Okie was a very proven stallion for several years producing many ranch, rope and barrel horses. He passed on bone, hip, solid feet, great minds, speed and easy going dispositions. Okie passed away summer of 2019 so unfortunately there will be no more offspring. He was a beautiful grandson of Watch Joe Jack. Watch Joe Jack was one of the top earning sons of Two Eyed Jack. He was a great broodmare sire and had the look and bone to be versatile enough to go from halter to roping.

Dam is a big bone, big hipped, BIG brown mare. This was her 5th foal, but her 4th foal with Joes Okie Blue. She was bred and ranch raised by the Rockin J in Clarendon TX. She passes on her size, bone, hip to all her foals. This cross has been consistent in look size and trainable dispositions.
