Description:
Young family seeking ranching/farming opportunity in western South Dakota, Nebraska, Montana, or Wyoming. My name is Klayton I am 28, my wife Jessica is 25, and our son Colten is just over a year old. We are seeking a long-term opportunity to be part of a ranch/farm operation. We have a passion for agriculture and living a lifestyle of faith, family, and hard work. We are seeking a family owned and operated outfit that is looking for a young Christian family to be a part of their operation; treating it as if it was their own.

I have an associate’s degree in Agriculture from Dordt University and a farrier certificate from Montana State University. I enjoy working with livestock and farming. I grew up on a dude ranch in central Colorado and have experience in riding, some roping, general ranch work, maintenance, working with livestock etc. Throughout college I worked part time at Trans Ova Genetics calving facility in NW Iowa where I gained experience and knowledge in calving, heat checks, and processing cattle (I would prefer a learning period in these areas). After college I worked full time on a farm in SW Montana for two years where I was involved in all areas of farming, irrigating, operating and maintaining equipment and driving truck. (I have class A CDL). Since 2017 I have been working at a farm cooperative in NW Iowa in the feed, grain, and energy departments.

Whether you are looking for one employee or two, we would consider all opportunities. Jessica has a bachelor’s degree in horticulture from Montana State University. She enjoys gardening, landscaping, working in a greenhouse, working with grasslands, and just being outdoors working. Her primary focus right now is raising Colten, but would also like to work part time or from home.

I am most interested in a cow/calf operation, but open to all opportunities, where someone is willing to invest their time and knowledge into me. I will be the first to admit that I do not have all the knowledge, experience, or skills that an experienced ranch hand has. I would also say that I am a quick learner and with my work ethic, commitment and my families desire to be a part of this industry and live this lifestyle, I know it will be an investment worth making. Our starting date is flexible depending on each situation but we would prefer around eight weeks to get moved and sell our home. There is much more to say but for more details and a resume with past employment references please call or text Klayton at 712-463-2210 or email at ktesch91@gmail.com
