This is a long term positon. The couple will be responsible for day to day operations. The main property is 10000+ ac with 2 grass pivots, rest and rotational grazing done in the summer and extensive water system, and some wheat pasture. Primary focus is Livestock and forage management with goal of producing seedstock that customers want to buy. Compensation package includes salary, bonus opportunity, truck for ranch use, housing on site, with utilities, 1/2 beef annually, monthly Health Insurance allowance, and 401K after one year, and paid vacation. Primary responsibilities: • Oversee day to day operations of 14000ac ranch operations on cow/calf- to long yearling. • Maintain accuracy and field records of herd, (feeding, tagging, branding, weaning, vaccinating, doctoring, inventory, and cattle movement, ect and ability to communicate of such). • Process the ability for strategic planning identify areas for savings, or over all ranch improvements. • Handle ranch schedules and ability to execute action plan in a timely fashion. • Support and or direct other staff members and contractors, and seasonal help. • Maintain building, and structures and water wells, pivots operational, and other ranch equipment. • Maintain integrity of pastures and land, repair fences and corrals to keep in working order. • Maintain cleanliness, appearance and organization of barns, pastures, ranch vehicles, and equipment. Secondary responsibilities: • Farming of wheat ground. • Mowing pastures and roads. • Preparing for annual sale event. • Application of herbicides to manage habitat. Primary Manager Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture/ranch Management a plus. • 15+ years of strong leadership/ experience working with all phases of livestock, Registered cattle experience a plus. • Proficient horsemanship skills for the purpose of cattle care (roping and gathering). • Ability to communicate with cattle customers, contractors, veterinarians. • Physically able to work outdoors in all types of weather and on uneven terrain. • Ability to weld, operate a tractor and skid steer a plus. General Couple Requirements: • Oversee/keep property at guest ready level at all times. • Must be flexible with work schedule, most days are 7-5 but not all. • Must be able to pass criminal background screen and hold valid driver’s license. • Professionally represent the ranch at all times. • Excellent people skills.
