This 5 year old draft cross gelding is hands down one of the most special individuals we’ve ever had the opportunity to have in the program. Josiah is a Belgian/ Quarter Horse cross and is stout made while remaking light enough to feel and handle like a saddle horse. He stands just under 15.2 hands and has some impressive bone and nice, BIG feet with black hooves all the way around. Josiah is young, sound, and free in clear of any baggage. This young horse was raised and broke out to ride right. He began his career in the cattle pen, pushing, sorting, and penning cattle as well as roping and dragging bulls into the trailer. This guy is slow legged, quiet and smooth. He has a great work ethic and a willing attitude. He is relatively green in the arena but has been picking up on his recent schooling very nicely. Josiah really tries to figure out anything we show him. If I could fault him anywhere it would be his young age. Because of that, his person will need to be someone who is at least at an intermediate level and someone who has the time to commit to his continued training. Josiah would make a fantastic cowboy dressage prospect, a fancy mounted patrol horse, an ideal mountain horse. Pack him, use him on the ranch or just enjoy him on the trials, the possibilities with this young, gorgeous guy are endless. Josiah is up to date on all, including a recent dental, and he has been both barefoot and shod. He is currently barefoot. He hauls quiet and is an easy keeper. He gets along just fine in a herd situation and has been easy for me to catch in big pasture. Just an overall stellar, young gelding! Don’t miss him!
