I’ve drug lots of calves on her, gathered, sorted, backgrounded cattle for a combined 120 days, day worked, roped yearlings, gathered bulls, hunted coyotes with dogs, gathered the remuda, and took her to a ranch rodeo and a ranch sorting. She stands where you drop the reins, stands for the vet and farrier, and stood fine for the one bath she’s gotten. Loads on a trailer in fine form and backs off with no hesitation and will ride with other horses. Dog’s don’t bother her, and I’ve used her to pen and rope goats on. She’ll cross a creek or a river and will bust brush with the best of them. She’s got a nice handle and stop and is soft in the face and poll. You lift your hand and she tucks her face and drops her nose. She’s got a nice turnaround. She’ll watch a cow and has some move in a sorting pen. She’s got some afterburners too. You can open any gate off her and she bends around and puts you in close. Yesterday I was sitting on her when we had an electrical switch at a water well blow up right next to us and throw fireworks everywhere and she didn’t spook at all. So in a manner of speaking, you could call her bomb proof. Not a babysitters horse because she wants to work, but for a ranch kid that’s been around horses and knows their stuff, she’s perfect. You can lay off her for a month, saddle up and go do a job. After a dry spell, the first time you hit a lope without warming up you can expect a crowhop, but she’ll pull straight out of it and be ol’ reliable from there out. By warming up I dont mean miles on a lunge line, just let her make a couple circles on a rein in either direction. She’s sound as a dollar, sure footed and has good feet. I’ve put a LOT of miles on her working cows, and ponying colts and just covering country. She was raised on the O’Brien ranch in Beeville, and is bred to be the genuine thing. She’s a great all around ranch horse. UTD on vaccination and dewormer. Located halfway between San Antonio and Corpus TX. Come ride her and you’ll love her.
