Minimum of 3 years horse handling experience required. The ranch is not accessible by vehicle so you will live and work on the ranch for the season. Our season runs from early-mid May through September. Minimum 3 years horseback experience Willingness to learn to drive teams Proven riding and horsemanship abilities Match guests with appropriate horses and rides considering their skill level Maintain barn areas daily Ability and experience to safely use and maintain tools and equipment Preform any other ranch chores as needed. Including but not limited to the following: care and use of chainsaws, trail clearing, fencing, splitting and distribution of firewood. Ability to work independently and complete tasks in the absence of supervision. Silver Tip Ranch is not you typical “dude ranch”.Guest rides are only a part of the daily operations, some days not at all. The ranch is supplied exclusively by team and wagon. Therfore driving/working horses for entire day is a frequent chore. The feeding grounds for the string is 2-3 miles from the ranch, so riding at a fast pace gathering horses is a frequent chore also. Yellowstone National Park and Absorkee Beartooth wilderness are the north and south boundaries of the ranch, so being in and exploring beautiful country are daily routines.
