Description:
The Flying X Ranch is a privately held recreational ranch located in the Laramie Range near Wheatland, Wyoming. We are seeking a well-rounded, mature Maintenance and Operations staff person.



Qualifications: Experience in carpentry, welding, electrical (residential and commercial), plumbing. Use of Ranch equipment for haying, pasture, and road maintenance (dozer, backhoe, grader, track hoe, wheel loader, dump truck, tractors). Skills in maintenance on heavy diesel and gas vehicles is needed. Meticulous records of maintenance on all vehicles is required. Organizational skills, self motivation and the ability to work alone and with a team is a must.



Objective: Maintenance of equipment and buildings. Ability to do basic plumbing and electrical repairs a must. Report equipment replacement needs and anticipate repairs that would require a specialist to keep all equipment in good running condition. Keep good equipment maintenance schedules. Keep the Ranch Manager informed of any necessary needs of the maintenance and operations department on a regular basis. Operations include snow plowing and grading of ranch roads and trails as well as other items that would keep the operations of the ranch moving in a smooth flowing nature. Secondary duties include other ranch duties as needed. Examples include assisting with the set-up, participation in, and in the clean-up of ranch activities and festivities.



Position reports directly to the Ranch Manager. Salary compensation will be in the $35K range — depending on qualification and people skills —and includes housing, utilities, cable, Internet, use of Ranch vehicles and ATVs for work.
