He was purchased for a family member who no longer rides. He is such a neat horse that we’d love to see him go to someone who can have some fun with him instead of letting him waste in the pasture. Ben is a QH/X (grade) gelding standing just a smidge over 14 hands. He might be on the shorter side, but he is as wide as he is tall! The guy riding him in the pictures/video is 6’4, so this gelding can pack a wide range of riders and not look funny doing it. Ben is 16 years young. We have primarily used him for trails and riding around our place. In the past he was used to push and pen cattle. He’s a gentle horse that prefers two speeds, walk and trot. He will willingly offer these gaits when asked, but he doesn’t love to lope, so he’s definitely more whoa than go. He will lope but you’d better be motivated to get him going and keep him going, lol. Ben would make an excellent addition to any therapy program. He would make a wonderful mount for any timid beginners wanting to learn how to ride on a horse that they can trust not to get them in a jam. He’d make a great kid’s horse and could easily be enjoyed by the whole family. Ben has been well taken care of and is sound. We have always kept him barefoot. He has nice black, hard feet. He is an easy keeper. We have never had any medical issues with him in all the years we’ve owned him. He has just recently had a dental done as well. He hauls great and gets along with the other horses and all our other critters. He’s just a really cool, broke, aged gelding. Everyone needs one like him in their life! $2800 obo. Wolfe City, TX.
