They are marked Stockard on the outside of the heel bands and are style number 51.Gerald started building bits and spurs in the early 1980’s when he was working for Buster Welch. He has built trophy spurs for two of the top ranch rodeos in the country – Western Heritage in Abilene and the Ranch Round Up in Wichita Falls. His work is a favorite among cutters and ranch cowboys. You do not see his work show up too often for sale. The spurs are steel with gray finish and are mounted with twelve pieces of nickel silver and two pieces of copper. He does nice steel work with rounded edges on the heel bands. If these spurs were ever used they were not used very much. There are a few places with rust on the steel. This would be a nice pair of spurs to use or to add to a collection from a very desirable maker.
