Description:
Current ranch operator looking to retire - 8,000 acre ranch in Southeast Montana with an out-of-state owner. Small cow herd plus 450 acres of alfalfa hay ground under pivot. Successful applicant will be trained first year with retiring operator assisting for next few years after that. Job duties to include all aspects of ranching - experience preferred in cattle work, haying, farm work, fence work, building/construction, water lines, equipment repairs (should have your own basic tool supply), end of month hay sales and inventory reports/record keeping, daily email updates to ranch owner (should have your own office supplies/copier/lap top computer), and anything else needed to run a ranch. Must be self motivated, working at least 7 days a week/12 months per year (this is a full time position, just like it is your own place!). Comes with a house, utilities paid, salary/benefits negotiable. This is not a seasonal or just a few year stint .... this is a commitment to work here a long time.
